my netbook reflection 2013

Using my netbook is cool because you can search things and you can go on other web sites like math whizz, this thing could Xtra math. I like having a blog and having other things but the most thing that I like doing on my netbook is having free time in our classroom if we get it. On our netbooks we could share our learning share our work and write paragraphs about narratives or what you do in the holidays.

I have learn’t that using netbooks for learning is the best thing because it helps you get your work done faster. On our math we have Xtra math and Math whizz.

I’ve helped other people by learning with them and solving so as working with them if they get stuck on their work. I have grown to be more smarter than I was before.

Camp bentzon

The island we are going to is Kawau island. It is a big island but the activities that are going to be there are cool. The activities that is at the island are Raft making, abseiling, Kayaking, Sailing, Burma trail, concourse, bivouac and orienteering. That is eight activities four for two days. The activity that I most like to or looking forward to do Is Kayaking.

Kayaking I have done in the year 5 and 6 camp and it is so fun. I hope that the other activities there are so fun but some might feel a bit scary. This camp might be the best camp i`ve every been to.

Growing crops porder

It was a nice day to play out side everyone accept a Marvin. He was a farmer that always has a bad time doing his farming and looking after his crops because they kept growing quite fast. Marvin  kept saying no to everyone that says can I help you Marvin with your crops, do you need help Marvin with your crops hey Marvin should I help you with your crops. He thought he had it under control after he thought that he actually did need help.

“Hey Marvin having a good time with those bad boys. Ha ha ha very funny Arc. Long time no see ha Marvin, its not that long, the last time we met or talked was 5 in a half hours ago after 10.o'clock or something like that. Really didn’t notice”. Arc was Marvins best friend they usually farm together but he didn’t notice that he needed help after he was gone to a meeting.

That meant something was wrong, so he went to him and asked him” Marvin did you just say you need help, yes! I do need help I was waiting for you to come back so we could do it together.

The crops are growing to fast and too big and I can’t stop them. How did this happen. I accidently put the Growing powder on the crops when I wasn’t supposed too. What! I thought that I could grow them faster so I don’t have to wait to water them instead.We need to do something fast but what.

There was a thing that I saw at a market that kills plants. It was called ummmm Killer plants potion. What does that look like! its like a green bottle, 500g and has a plant symbol on it.Where is the market! its not far from here so lets get going”. They ran to the truck and started driving fast, the were speeding thew the neighbors and got to the market of plants and bottles fast. Those guys got out of the truck they ran to the entrance of the market it looked like a lot of people had stuff with them like the Killer plants potion and some plants.

They needed be fast and get potion take it to the counter then get out of there and head back to the farm to kill those plants to the roots. Marvin and Arc had only five minutes to get there but there was only one more Killer plants potion left. The friends just got it but they only had 4 minutes left now, time was running out. They got to the counter and ran straight to the truck got back to the farm and they still had  more minutes. Marvin quickly used it and it all stopped

They were saved. They didn’t want to do that anymore.

The Unknown Whisper

It was a great day for a man like no other to farm and feed his animals but this man liked to farm because he got to play with his animals and so as his children. One day he went to the horse shed to feed them some hay. He was a hard working man to keep the family with some food and the animals. Wait did I forget to mention the people in his family. There is two kids one named Leo and one named Kane, one daughter Karin then her cousin May and me William.

”Dad can me and Leo go feed some horses and play with them. Yes you can Kane but be careful one of them might be hasty because it didn't get enough hay to eat, okay Kane and I'm

forgetting about you Leo. (Okay)”. They got some hay then walked to the horse shed butas they were walking they heard a whisper.”Leo did you hear that, yeah I did what was that”.

They came closer to the shed the horses weren't there, they got very scared and they got a big fright. Aaaahhhh go back to dad go back to dad! they ran as fast as they could to there dad and they both told him that there was a ghost in the horse shed. William was shocked,they needed to do something. But The Leo and Kane didn't know that he would actually believe them but their dad told them that hes heard it before 2 hours ago when he went to check on the horses but he thought it was his imagination. Dad, Leo,Kane Karin and May all went together to the shed to see what it was because all five of them had heard it.

The whole family got to the Shed and as they came closer they heard it again. Instead this time it sounded like an animal. In the shed was a hole and that was where all of the horses were. These horses were trying to help a sheep have a baby for its 20th child. Man that was really kind of them, were all happy for that.”So it wasn’t a ghost after all yeah man you guys were very scared Leo and Kane. No! we weren't scared Karin we were just umm putting on a prank yeah a prank Karin and you felt for it. Well it didn't look like it.

I think my most important thing is finding information for reading because you an retell the story of a book you have red and some one else would want to know. I think reading is good for you because you can learn more words, it is relaxing and you can enjoy reading. It also gives you ideas when you ever write and gives you imaginations.

Mrs goat and her seven little kids

Once upon a time there was a mother Goat and she had seven kids. She went to go to the supermarket to get some food for her little goats. She said to he little goats “don't open the door for anyone because the Wolf might come knocking on the door and eat you”.

When mother Goat went  to the supermarket the Wolf was hiding under the window and he  went to knock on the door. “Knock Knock Knock” and all the goats said “Who is it” and the wolf said it’s your mother, then little goat said “our mothers voice sounds squeaky like music” and the wolf went to the music lady. The wolf said “can you teach me how to sound squeaky like music or I will bite your beak off”.

Then the Wolf sprinted back to the goats house and knocked on the door, “ Kids I've got some candy for you let me in. One of the goats said, that does sound like my mothers voice show me your you hands. The Wolf showed his hands threw the mailbox hole and one of the goats said that isn’t our mothers hand its white.” So he went to the painting thing and he asked the artist bird to paint his hand white all he will eat his hand off, then he went to the goats house again and he said “I’ve got some comics for you let me in. Show me your tail and it was a fluffy tail so he had to go to the dentist to change his tail, the tail was made so he went to the goats house and eat the kids.

The wolf ate the six Kids and then he went to the back and then sit on mother goat chair and then he drank some grape and then mother goat came back and he didn't know. Mother goat went inside and then the little goat told mother goat everything and she said the wolf is outside drinking. Mother goat went to the back and mother goat keep on bumbed him off and he flew away.

Making Sugar buns

Dry ingredients. You get a bowl and sift 1 and 1/2 cup of flour. Then we get 1 heap teaspoon of baking powder and also sift it. Next add a pinch of salt. 2 heaped tablespoons of butter and rub it in. Wet Ingredients. Now you crack 1 egg into different bowl. You get ½ teaspoon vanilla and add it to the bowl with the egg. You add ½ cup milk and you add the Dry and Wet ingredients together. You fold it carefully and put little drops in a tray. You put it in the oven for 200 celsius for 10 min.

Ingredients and material 1 and a 1/2 flour, 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder, 3/4 cups of sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 2 heaped tablespoons of butter, 1 Egg, 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 1/2 cup milk and

Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto tray and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 200 celsius for 10 minutes

1.1/2 cup of flour

2. 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder.

3.3/4 cups of sugar

4.pinch of salt

5.Heaped tablespoons of butter

6.1 egg

7. 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

8.1/2 cup of milk

Narrative story starter

Title: Write an article about a confused athlete who swims with sharks.

One day there was an athlete that was always fit. His name was ambit, and he wanted to join a club for running season. Ambit lived with his mum,two,cousins,aunt,uncle and brother. He could run 35.72 kilometers per hour, he was faster than Usain Bolt.

At night he saw a store for athle sign up for clubs he went in and signed up their was one more spot . He got in and he was in the season running group. There were going to be heaps of people going to run but he was pretty sure that he was going to become first. The race was going to be 100 kilometers.

When he was walking he bumped into a man that confused people. He tried to hipnitties Ambit by swimming in the ocean with sharks. The race was about to start in 5 hours in the morning at 7:30 am Ambit was about to run all the way to the ocean and start swimming with sharks.

He was confused about what he was doing because he was tricked, the sharks were about to lure him to a part where the sharks could feed on him.

But then there was a sound it was a helicopter, a rescue helicopter that saw Ambit and he was trying to die. They picked him up and there was a shark that was about to jump up and eat him, but the rescue helicopter justed managed to get him up quickly. The race was about to start in 3 more minutes and they might take 4 minutes if there quick enough. So they went and tried a way to get him there faster.

Ambit was surprised and he could see everyone getting ready and it was nearly 7:30, the man that got ambit was so surprised that he was a athlete. They were about to get there in time and Ambit had to jump out to make it. He just made it and his family were watching.

My Punctuation goals

Little red riding hood

Once upon a time In a large forest was a little girl called little red riding hood and she set off to send some goods to her grandma. On way to her grandma’s house she met a mysterious wolf and he asked her where she was going and little red riding hood said to the wolf that she was going to her grandma’s house to drop off some goods because she was sick. So the wolf ran and took a short cut to her grandma’s house and when little red riding hood got to the house inside she got surprise that it was the wolf as her grandma. Then there was a Lumberjack that came by and saw a wolf about to eat little red riding hood, so he stabbed and sliced the wolf into piece’s so little red riding was safe so as grandma that came out of the cupboard. So there was never going to be a wolf that eats anyone and so everyone lived happily ever after.

The morale of the story is to not talk to stangnes in a place you have not been at before or in a long time.

I have learnt that if you're in trouble call for help don’t panic and wait for someone to come rescue you unless there is someone close by and is a lumberjack.

Goldilocks and the three bears

Once upon a time there were three bears, one was a father bear that was the biggest of them all, the other was mother bear which was middle in size and little baby bear which was a teddy bear size. Mother bear made some pudding with some berries in it, they had their bowls on the table ready for there puddling. The puddling was ready but it had to be left to cool so they went over to the beavers and check out their new baby. There was a Faired haired girl that was walking and picking flowers, her name was Goldilocks and she went nearby baby bears house and decided to see what baby bear was up to, she knocked on the door and the door was half open, she then started to explore the kitchen and saw some puddling she tried all of them and she only managed to eat only baby bears puddling, she even broke his chair. Then she went up stairs and in a minute she fell asleep, the bears came back and saw that there door was ajar, They went in and saw that baby bears puddling was eaten and his chair was broken they rushed to up stairs and saw that goldilocks was in baby's bed she saw the three bears and she rushed outside and never came back.

The morale of the story is to not go inside a friend's house to explore and touch things when you're not supposed to.    

I have learnt that you should never explore some ones house and break their property, so as eating someone's food, then shave a nap on a friend's bed.

Ugly duckling

Once upon a time in a far far land was a farmyard where there was a mother duck having babies. She was sitting on a group of baby eggs. She then heard a crack on the eggs. One by one they all popped out. But there was one egg bigger.

The last egg hatched and there was a big duckling it  was bigger than the other ducklings. they were teasing him. The mother duck tried to do anything to cheer him up.

next day the ugly duckling ran out of the farmyard to find who he was. He question all the the birds he could find. they all said no in a scorn voice.  he walked and he got lost until a lady found and went to look if he would lay eggs. But then he managed to get out.

A day later someone came and found him,the person who found the duckling took back to his house. When it was spring the person that took the duckling was all growing up. The person took the duckling to the pond where he found him and set him free. Then he noticed who he was and he saw some other birds like him. The other birds said that he was a swan like us. They then flew away together happily ever after.

Highlight this term

This term I really liked going to Kelly Tarltons. Room 16 the class that i'm in went to there with another set of class like room 17, room 18, room 13, and room 14. First we had to go to the school hall to see if everyone was going to be there. We waited for a little while then went on the bus. I thought that the ride was going to be short but it wasn't, we finally got there building was small but when we got inside it was long and blue looking. We saw all type of stuff like Penguins, Seahorses, a lot of Fish,Seals and a Stingray.

Making my own Mini Golf

On Sunday in the morning at 8:30 I made up my own Mini golf in my backyard. It was going to be a long course but separated. I Had 6 Short, Normal and Long courses. One course you have two ways of getting to the hole,one way was going through the pipe for short cut or through the normal way. Another one you were not aloud to hit three obstacles or you go back and restart.

I used some of my old sticks and found some rocks as walls . When I set everything up I test everything out to see if it would be good and it turn out right. I then played with my brother we playing to see who could get the less hits in my Mini Golf. In the first round I was trying to go through the pipe but I kept hit it instead.

Finally It went in but I was going to lose anyway on the first round. Then the next level you need to Not hit the obstacles or you start again. I was quite good at it and I actually won it. The obtactals where rocks and stones. We went on and on but then it came to the last one, but this one was the largest course I made.

It had a lot of stones and a long trail then went every where but the hole was on a little hill. Me and my brother never got there until it was dark then my brother just got it in the moment we were about to go inside to watch a movie. We had a good game but If My back yard was bigger I would've made more courses and more longer. But I still liked the one that I did,when it was the first time doing it.

Kelly Tarlton Trip

On Monday the 1 of July Room 13,14,16,17 and 18 went to Kelly Tarlton's and it was fun. First we went to the hall and see if we all were their. Then when we were fine we went on the bus. There were four buses so some one class had to be on the same as the other. In the bus I was sick and my friend wasn't sick because he was silent and I almost spurred.

Finally we got to Kelly Tarlton's and it looked like a small place, but when it was big and kind of blue. But it was an adventure and there was a bridge and it made us dizzy but it was a small bridge so it was find. In the building we went around a big fish tank that was above us.

There were sharks and other fish that we have never seen. There also was a thing that move us around. It was a Walking Excavator Machine and we got to take a picture of fish it was cool and then the excavator machine stop and everybody was saying “WHAT HAPPENED”! Then our teacher Mr Somerville said “oh man someone broke the so we had to walk instead of ride.

The Dragon Machine 123

One night there was boy his name called George Washington. He looked out of the window and noticed dragons flying. The next day he was unnoticed, everyone thought that he wouldn't had existed. Then he went to the library and the dragons followed him. They broke the pots and then he said sorry. Then he went outside running the dragons also broke the telephone wire.

George had a dragon map and it showed a place where dragons leave. He made a Dragon Machine and try to make the dragons follow him. then he ended up in a imagination. Then when he got home he got a dog but George wasn't sure if it was a real dog.

Iceman and the strangers at antarctica

Today there was a celebration of a New years eve. Every New years eve this man  always sets sail from New York to Antarctica and the Antarctic with his boat. He was known as the Iceman. That was what everyone called him, because he would always be one of the brave people that would ride to Antarctica and the Antarctic.

He would always has backup food, cloths with him and his skills to survive just in case he gets himself into trouble.

The Iceman had to set up camp fast because there was going to be a snow storm coming his way. He didn't have the tools but  some  nails and his builders hammer. The rest of the tools were back at his boat and he wouldn't of had much time, so he had to use some of leftover tents that might of been there for decades. The tents was half broken but he managed to make an tent. It wasn't comfortable in the tent but he still slept.

Next day he went out to get his tools from his boat, while he was walking he saw some penguins he didn't know what they were called but he just kept walking. There was one penguin  following him and his friends were starting to follow as well. When he got to the boat the penguins started running into the boat, chucking his tools and tipping the boat over so they could try and break it. But then two killer Whales came up and crashed into the boat instead. STOP!!!! he cried, “The Iceman was crying .

This isn't good he said. “There was nothing he could do, So he went back to his tent but suddenly he heard a voice, It came from the other tents. He went to the tent and saw people sleeping.There were people here with him so he wasn't alone. He woke up the strangers that were in the tent and said CAN YOU HELP ME. in a big voice.

How did you get here in Antarctica, I never saw a boat or ship. As they were just waking up the Iceman was really worried and they were just so tired. One of the strangers were happy because help had came but Iceman was just one of the people that tested the temperature. They had food but it was animal food, and that was the only thing that they could eat. They didn't know that the Iceman had some food back at his tent.

So then he wanted them to help him and the strangers new this place quite good. They told the Ic that they needed there Pirate ship. The pirate ship was hiding in the mountains and there were mountain giants guarding ship. The strangers were pirates that were from old times and could still survive,but they needed it so they could get out of there. So  they formed a plan and tried to distract the giants so the other could get in and try to silent kill the others or charge in while the Iceman and the captain of there ship do the rest of work.

So here’s the plan said Iceman. there a 5 groups and you are in groups of 10s because there a 50 of you. so the first 10 will distract the mountain giants that are guarding the entrance and the and rest of you will charge in and try to hold off or the mountain giants you can hold off and when I say RETREAT you all come on the ship and I will have some spare weapons for you guys. Alright get into position but Wait for the signal said “Iceman to the captains troops. So what's the signal said “one of the troops. You will find out.

NOW said “Iceman. The first ten went out and tried to distract the mountain giants that were guarding the entrance, it wasn't doing anything that much but that kept trying. One of them even though its spare so the giants could run after them. when that was happen the others charged in and started a little war in the cave and there were a lot of giants in there then they would of expected. So the Iceman and the captain had to be fast and get the rest of there weapons on the ship and past it to the troops.

lucky the ship was already on water so they could set sail fast and get out of there. RETREAT RETREAT the Iceman Kept repeating. Some of them couldn't hear him so he got out his old megaphone and said  RETREAT RETREAT RETREAT. He kept on repeating but that wasn't working and they weren't listening. So he just went on with the captain and sailed away back to New York but then it got some of the troops attention and they started running to the ship and grabbing on to it but the giants didn't allow them to escape.

But some of the giants nearly got in but the captain got his sword and hold them off so Iceman had to go without them but he was going to be safe. He finally got out of the cave and he headed back to New York. It took a month to get back to New York and some people were talking about it. Then everyone stopped and listen to that noise it was a boat It came closer and they saw Iceman. They were happy and everyone had a celebration.

Will.I.am vist

Yesterday on Thursday after Morning tea we had to go to the hall because there was an important visitor that came to our school. But we had to wait for five minutes but some of us were trying to guess who it is but we didn,t know. THEN SUDDENLY we heard Mr burt say this famous man called Will.I.am.

Some of us were freaking out because Wii.I.am was here. Someone next to me named calvin my friend he was freaking out just to much because he was excited to see Will.I.am.He was the famous person from Black Eyed Peas.He told us about when he grew up to be a star.He even gave us a donation of a $  100 000 check. We were surprised to see that but we were thank for.

But before that we got to see the hip hop crew from our school to dance for Will.I.am and poanamo.
